La Hwy 13

My notes on La.13:

La.13 is the definition of straight. Straight has it's advantages at times.
The road travels from the Cajun Prairie to the foothills of the Kasatchie Wold at
Turkey Creek. Just south of Turkey Creek, there is a fine city part where I've
enjoyed picnicking. Chicot State Park is to the east and Crooked Creek Park is
to the west, both south of Turkey Creek. Eunice is full of stuff to do. The Liberty
Theater and several historical entities are within walking distance, including a
library of Cajun music. Speaking of, don't miss Fred's Lounge in Mamou. Saturday
mornings only.
Kaplan has a fine museum on its main street, La.13. See the rice mills soon.
Crowley is a museum. The Victorian homes and classic downtown are treasures.
