AKDN in Ville Platte
This is their main tug in Ville Platte, La. Sometimes there are others.
It sits at the farmers' coop which is next to the Union Tank facility.
It pulls the trains to Bunkie and back.

This is the rail approach to Ville Platte from Opelousas.
This line was installed in the early 40's after the Ville Platte to Euncie line was taken up.
That is a rice mill up ahead.
Below is the rice mill in the previous shot.
What is important here are the  cut off rails to the right.
They are the rails to Ville Platte, mentioned above. They are some of the last remnants of that historic line
which was initiated by the Louisiana East and West RR and finished by the Texas and Pacific RR.
