The Rain on the Plain

The rain came for days and nights.
The word was out that the Bayou Plaquemine Brule rail bridge might be moving around.
The engineers at UP huddled and decided that the best way to see if it was safe was
to send a gazillion pound freight over it as fast as it could go.

A crew was dispensed.

Straws were drawn.
Jerome, Leonard and Richard were chosen to observe  the test.
That ain't workin', that's the way you do it. .....
UP's hiring......

Back off the tracks, things were wet. Help was needed.
Quoting a long time resident of the community.

Just upstream from the RR bridge is the highway bridge.

But, there was nothing to worry about. UP sent their inspectors to help.

And sure enough, the water went down.
Later I wondered why they call them UP guys?

 The End.
